Based on my idea that the better advisory letters will grow in popularity here's some information some of you may find useful:::
I use Murphy's letter for leads on stocks I want to look into. Sometimes I find myself wondering if he's the only one who has ever heard of some of them. Jim McCamant IMO is also quite knowledgable about the biotech sector, and I tend to look at a stock more closely if they BOTH recommend it.
Below is a list of stocks that both Murphy and McCamant recommend. Both letters are also a great read, but unless you're managing a very large portfolio, it's pretty damned expensive to subscribe to both. There is, however, a digest I found that lists stocks if they are a common pick. It's called the
Independent Investor Digest. This letter follows CTSL, MTSL as well as Timer Digest, MPT Review, the Chartist, OTC Insight, Oberweis, Value Line, Zweig, and Zacks. The letters are chosen based on recalculation of the most recent Hulbert ratings, and so the list is periodically changed. If a stock is rated a "buy" by any two of the featured letters, it's listed in the Digest.
