Most investor newbies don't short...than longs

Ok, here is my view:
Shorting(learning and practice) is a part of portfolio management, risk management. Just like driving, to get to point A to point B, One drives "forward". But you got to know how to "reverse" too, to accommodate parking, turn-around..etc..otherwise your hands are tied sometimes.

As to "is it prudent to buy a stock based soley on the short shares out"? No, it's not a prudent "investment" decision, but it's part of the net stocks' supply/demand curves.
