This is just the beginning...both for VISG and the industry - I surmise. I believe that in the future the drivers lic will be able to store your birth certificate...medical history[DNA]...and your last will and testament.

The future is coming very quick. My drivers licence has a bar code on it. Currently when the police stop you they scan it to check for criminal record or outstanding warrants.

Our Provincial government is in the process of setting up a medical system that uses a smart card to hold basic medical information and a key to unlock complete information (medical history) at a centralized database. The medical association is currently opposed to the idea, fearing privacy implications.

A few years ago, my University ID was also my phone card and bank card (if i signed up with the Royal Bank).

You are right. One day these functions will be combined on one card. Or will it be implanted in your hand like MIT is developing? Place your hand on the screen please.

Regards
Jay
