Chris - Of the discount brokers, DLJdirect is by far the best as regards availability of shorts.

Be careful on the ones that could skyrocket. They tend to be available at the low price, and then unavailable when you might want to short again at a higher price.

Nevertheless, DLJ is good, as is Yamner (by phone)(www.yamner.com). Many people who short on a regular basis have an off-shore account, where short availability is vastly superior, but commissions vastly higher.
