Vodafone's Mannesmann Bid Gets Support From Investors, WSJ Says 11/30/99 8:53:00 PM Source: Bloomberg News London, Nov. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Vodafone AirTouch Plc's offer for Mannesmann AG has the backing of several Mannesmann investors, the Wall Street Journal reported. Even as Germany's Mannesmann fights off the hostile bid by the world's No. 1 mobile phone company, many fund managers are supporting the bid by Newbury, U.K.-based Vodafone. ``The Mannesmann defense hasn't set a fire and has not won the day so far,' said David Stevenson, a fund manager at Scottish Value Management, which owns stakes in both companies, the newspaper said.
