Good points. I go back and forth on this issue. I agree that he has damaged the integity of the game, but I think the lifetime ban is too harsh based on the light penalties given out to MLB players for other league violations. Also, did you know when baseball made the rule that those banished from baseball cannot be in the hall of fame. It was made by Fay Vincent 3 weeks after Pete Rose and MLB signed came to terms. This was a rule made specifically to punish Pete. Let's see what happens with this one... espn.go.com We will see what kind of punishment the person who changed the date on Beltre's birth certificate gets from MLB.
