I can laugh now. I got hit with a rather large tax bill earlier this year when JDS Fitel (the Canadian Company) was acquired by Uniphase (a US company) and the change was so pleasantly deemed a taxable event by the IRS. As my friends reminded me with there "poor boy" solace, I still made a gain. It just pains me to have to write those quarterly checks.
