Interesting synopsis of academic research on using stock to buy a target company in the Motley Fool indicates that a company uses its stock to buy a target company when the acquirer knows its stock is over-valued. Maybe ASND got a dose of reality, and its drop in price had nothing to do with the merger. Just a thought. Paul
