I am fairly confident that the Airtouch system will work reliably and quickly wherever I can get a digital signal.

FWIW, I have had a similar experience using my Thinphone as a modem connected to my Powerbook. Connection was extremely reliable and simple. The only drawback is the my PB uses a USB connector and I had to go buy an adapter. Very expensive.

I used it to connect to the Internet while sitting in Starbucks where I was attending our investment club meeting. One of our members was doing an AOL IM session with me from across the country. Everyone was very impressed. Wait until we start seeing CDMA asics built right onto the motherboard. Just turn your computer on and it is connected, whenever and wherever you want.
