The CEO should not be wheeled out in the hope that relevant questions will be asked. The substance of an interview should be agreed in advance and if it cannot be agreed then forgeraboutit.
Good point. Even call-in shows like Bob Brinker's have screening for calls.
A lot of people like to denigrate CNBC, but the one time I watch CNN, their MO shows itself as trying to set up the guest to fail. When I think of CNBC's interviews, I thing of Mark Hanes interviewing James Morgan of AMAT. It's almost like a mutual admiration society. Well, not quite that thick. I would email Compaq Investor Relations (at Intel, we have one on the SI thread. Well, he moved on to bigger and better things at Intel, but he still responds), saying CNN should get a nastygram form Compaq.
Oh, re thanks for the report, you're welcome. Actually, I'm watching CPQ as a buy. Is a little less than $25 the best buy I'm going to get?
