Are you kidding? If you count up all the asians in entry level engineering positions in technology, or in the top university engineering programs (those schools WITHOUT quotas)... my guess is its probably 60-70% if you include all asian groups. How many make it to management? 2% or something? And of the schools that the leaders do come from, how many had quotas..? Stanford sure does. If you could have looked at my class at Cal, based on a pure mathematical projection, you would have said that the majority of top engineering positions in industry would have been taken by Asians in about 10 - 15 years. What happened? Can you name a few hot companies (Sun,Cisco, HP etc) where the top technical strategist is Asian? I can think of, like, 3. In the whole industry. And I'm talking engineering here... forget the executive staff or sales etc.
