Maria, Schmaria...did everyone catch her daily faux pas this a.m.?
There she was, on the floor, bellowing away...lo and behold, she informs us that the Dow will be down huge today because Atlantic Richfield is a Dow component. Ok, everyone makes mistakes, but then she goes ON and ON and ON again about how Arco is a Dow component and what effect it will have on the Dow today.
Well, even market beginners know that Arco isn't, nor has ever been, a DJIA component. Where did she pull that crap from?
Sometimes I wonder if there are analysts who know how clueless she is, and how she is always looking to parrot what someone else said. I wonder if sometimes (i.e. this morning, with the Arco debacle) they bait her hook and tell her stuff like, "Oh yeah Maria, tomorrow could be ugly because Arco is a DJIA component," just to see if she'll take the bait and run with it. Obviously this morning she did! The Ferret strikes again. Hats off to whoever baited her hook this morning...they must've gotten a better laugh than even I did! Arco a Dow component indeed! And she calls herself a financial journalist? Yeah right. |
