OT Mephisto:

Attending a shareholder get together that is coordinated with an annual meeting is a legitimate investment related tax deduction (flight, hotel). I wouldn't even consider trying to justify deducting for a get together due to an earnings announcement.

I sometimes drive to annual meetings, at least ones within a _few_ hours drive. To fly to one? Never just to attend the meeting. There would have to be an additional compelling reason to go--like a get together of people here.

Anyway, I'm sure the people who can meet in July will have a nice time. July and August would be terrible times for me to attend any gathering, even if it was on this side of the country, because my chances of being on another continent these months are very, very great.

Lynn

P.S. I do not bother to take a mileage deduction when I drive to meetings. I know I could but I don't.
