Even Greenspan believes that Y2K will be a nonevent...in my view, this was a terrific marketing ploy by consulting firms, and hardware and software vendors (as well as others) to get people nervous and spending cash on Y2K strategy plans and massive upgrades to existing back office and front office systems....entire industries and firms rely on the smoke and mirrors behind Y2K paranoia and loads of folks have cashed in on feeding the fear. My prediction is that when the new millenium finally arrives, there will be such a collective and resounding sigh of relief that we will rally like never before.
