It does open some questions. I have a lot of respect for AOL as business.

One thing that the Zi people have been saying from before the Chinese gov't announcements is that they had no interest in selling the company. So it is possible that Zi just was not available, it would be consistent with their previous statements.

As far as what else it might say, it certainly would appear that AOL is no concerned about the Zi lawsuit vs Tegic.

One question that it opens up is, is there room for more than one competitor in this space? The answer will take time to find out. It will make for an intersting competition. AOL will be able to provide Tegic with significant capital to exploit its technology. Countering that Zi has the joint venture with the Chinese government.
