About Y2k, funny how these things arrive at the right time, but I have one which should ease some minds. As confirmed by my independent insider answers & local rumors prior to the "official word" I just received today, NCE (Public Service Colorado, South Western Public Service - Panhandle TX & parts of NM) Will have a far better chance of providing Y2k service.
Per the letter I got today:
"(3) All our major power plants are now operating in the Year 2000. By moving our control clocks forward, we were able to verify reliable operation under future dates. We intend to leave these plants operating under "future time" until well after the New Year's transition."

OK, while I'm sure there will be problems, this is one I can put on the back burner. Yes, there might be some sort of weird cascading problem, but I already know their major plants produce around 98-180% of their total system demand. One of their "minor sites" is moth-balled, one has no operations which could fail - no systems operation computers, & the wind generation system is NEW!

My largest fears of Y2k are still the bad boyz inside & outside our borders(and our govt.?) which will try to take advantage.
