Tax question ...

As time goes on, the cost base of my Cisco shares approach zero. It took nearly eight years to go from $42 to $1. When my cost base finally dips below a penny, do I still need to report the cost when I sell my shares? Doing this math and tax stuff cuts into partying time. The 72:1 and 36:1 split adjustments tax the old brain.

Perhaps I could take the advice of some of the posters on this thread and sell my Cisco. Seems like a great way to avoid these questions.
