Sid - thanks for such a clear exposition...

I recall that one of the Glassman Hassett articles said that the origin of their research interest was in the inexplicable rise in the equities market - in the early nineties, Glassman kept writing articles for the Post about traditional valuations, regression to the mean and so on, and yet the market kept rising - thru 6000, 7000, 8000, etc, so they went off and hatched this theory to explain what was going on and why the surge was possibly rational.

So - if their theory doesnt explain it, I hafta ask what is the Turtlman theory? Are we in an unusual epoch of high productivity gains, or a unique global economic expansion, or are we in a tulip bubble? New paradigm? Other?

Appreciate your thoughts!
Dave
