Hi, Darleen. My guess would go something like this: AOL is emerging as the "eGorilla" (to pull a term from another thread), and is developing joint ventures and value chains in various areas. One of these is wireless internet. They may therefore be able to dictate standards as far as how you link with the internet with your phone. That would leave Zi out in the cold in North America. The battle is a mini-mirror of theirs with MSFT on instant messaging, perhaps.

I'll repeat my earlier assertion, however, that this only affects areas where AOL is or will be dominant. And they have no presence in Asia, as far as I know. Zi's still got China.
