Dow Jones Newswires -- December 1, 1999 DJ Mexico's Tribasa Gets 60-Day Extension On Debt Payment MEXICO CITY (Dow Jones)--Mexican construction and engineering concern Grupo Tribasa SA (GTR) said Wednesday it has been granted up to a 60-day extension on interest and principal of its Tribade 93 peso-denominated obligations. The extension applies to coupon 26 and a fourth principal payment on the obligations of Tribasa unit Triturados Basalticos y Derivados SA, Tribasa said in a filing with the Mexican Stock Exchange. Tribade 93 holders agreed to the extension on Tuesday. The payments, which were due Dec. 4, are now due Feb. 2, 2000 at the latest, Tribasa added. In June, Duff and Phelps de Mexico lowered to BB from BBB- its rating on the issue after the company was granted an extension on interest and the third amortization. The seven-year obligations stood at 499.4 million pesos ($1=MXN9.4750) at the end of the third quarter of 1999. In its third quarter report on the issue, Duff and Phelps said that despite important debt reduction this year by Tribasa, the holding company continues to suffer from lack of liquidity and difficulty in accessing foreign debt markets. -By Anthony Harrup; Dow Jones Newswires;
