I missed that part of the First Amendment that says that one group of people can
trample over the rights and freedoms of another group of people, by closing down
businesses and the free movement of others, and by creating an atmosphere which
threatens imminent danger to the general public.


I agree totally. The vandals who were doing the damage should have been arrested and thrown in jail. Instead the police watched them and in most cases did nothing. That group trampled on the rights of everybody. But that doesn't justify the police turning around and trampling over the rights of citizens who want to exercise their constitutional right peaceably to assemble and petition for redress of grievances.
