Actually, the protesters in Seattle are activists from many different organizations. Some of them have been in training camps the last couple of weeks showing how to protest effectively without violence, and how to get arrested in the best possible way. It is unfortunate that the riots turned violent. I wonder why? Street punks? Most of the groups in Seattle are very serious about their causes, and would do nothing at all to hurt them. Maybe--shades of Nixonian times--the WTO itself planted violent agitators in the crowd to try to discredit everyone!
