The problem is that there will not always be that freedom of choice, you will have to buy the equipment that works with your service provider. Remember that Cisco has a very large penetration in the IP market, employs proprietary elements to protocols and will give away equipment to maintain their presence. Our benefit is really in alliances with other giants such as Lucent. Cisco is extremely predatory! Long on WIN do not hold any Cisco, just pointing out the other side of the argument.
