Dow Jones 12/02/99 GPS SALES UP 23% from 1yr ago...to 1.07 billion from 868 million....nov total sales rose 23%....however Old Navy had a NEG. single digit for Nov-compared to a high 20's a year ago...GAP kids had a POSITIVE low single digit compared to a neg. single digit a year ago...GAP had a POSITIVE low single digit compared to a neg single digit last year..Banana Republic had a POSTIVE high single digit compared to a POSITIVE high 20's digit a year ago. IF YOU LOOK AT THIS CAREFULLY SALES ARE UP...just shifted...remember Dec. and last minute shopping is coming near...winter is warmer than usual to get you in the spirit...plus sales pre Christmas and after are not underway as of yet.
