I have posted in the ATHM thread regarding the synergy of @Home's cablemodem service and web-served desktops. Message 12167876 @Home needs the "killer broadband app" ... and has the service to support demanding web-served applications. I think we'll see @Home try to play this game. I'd like to see one or more of the web-desktop players license their service to @Home ... it's a mutually beneficial deal. Short term benefit is primarily to @Home ... but in a larger sense, it tends to guarantee survival of the desktop provider. The same synergy argument applies to the DSL players as well. I see the "pull" from the broadband competition accelerating web-applications into the mainstream more quickly than one might imagine.
