Weekly Jobless Claims = +15k to 291k

In the week ending Nov. 27, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 291,000, an increase of 15,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 276,000. The 4-week moving average was 286,500, a decrease of 250 from the previous week's revised average of 286,750.


New Home Sales for Oct. = +16%

OCTOBER 1999 NEW HOUSING SALES AT ANNUAL RATE OF 986,000
Sales of new one-family houses in October 1999 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 986,000 according to estimates released today by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 16 (+/-9) percent above the revised September rate of 848,000 and 9 (+/-10) percent above the October 1998 rate of 903,000.
