What's implied volatility? (hehehe) Seriously, I don't pay attention to any of that stuff. Delta, sigma, phi beta kappa, that stuff is for fraternities. I don't waste my time calculating open interest on calls and puts and then trying to decide where the stock is going to magically be "drawn to" or any hogwash like that either. I also don't believe in blaming the market makers for screwing me out of my money by secretly conspiring to make the stock close below 100 or something. That is just pitiful lame excuses by amateur investors who can't accept that they got it wrong.
The way I look at it is this. If MM's are out to screw all the options investors by manipulating the stock to close near the strike with the most open interest, then I've got 3 suggestions for them.
A) Quit your trading and become a market maker so you too can screw all the little guys and get rich yourself. B) Get off your lazy asses and write calls and puts if they are all going to expire worthless due to evil MM's. (essentially mirror the moves of the MM's) C) Only trade stocks that don't trade options so you have no one to blame but yourself when your stock seems to drift toward a round number.
Ahh, I'm feeling feisty today. Think the flu inside me has been annihilated, obliterated, eradicated, exterminated, incinerated, decimated, and pulverized.
P.S. Wrote DEC 105 covered calls for 5 3/8. |
