"A good example of our strength today is the fact that Compaq
is selling at about $24/share when it sold at $40/share a
year ago as we have seen declining marketshare in the PC
market, declining margins on a per-PC-basis and poor earnings
growth, including declines for charges against the recently-
acquired Tandem and DEC divisions. I MUST try to convince
these poor slobs (I mean shareholders!!) that we are penetrating
the web-server market at a record rate or we are toast & I'm out
of a job."

-- Ben Rosen Chairman of Compaq in a speech to himself as he
spoke to unsuspecting CPQ shareholders like twister, Dale J.,
and Jim Kelley.
