Number Nine's Award-Winning Imagine 128 Series 2
Now Available in Both Dell Dimension and OptiPlex Product Lines

LEXINGTON, Mass., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Number Nine Visual
Technology Corporation (Nasdaq: NINE), a world leader in high-
performance graphics solutions for both PCs and PowerMacs, today
announced it has extended its OEM agreement to include Number Nine's new
Imagine(TM) 128 Series 2 visual/graphics accelerator. The Imagine
128 Series 2, which Number Nine believes to deliver a more-than-twofold
increase in performance over the original Imagine 128, will be offered
as a performance option with the Dell Dimension(TM) XPS and OptiPlex(TM)
lines of business PCs.
This agreement follows more than 18 months of Dell Dimension users
enjoying the award-winning performance of the original Imagine 128.
Dell PCs equipped with Number Nine graphics accelerators have
consistently logged top graphics benchmark scores from a wide range of
computer publications. Continuing its drive to deliver the highest
performance available in the industry, Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) has extended
its commitment to the new Imagine 128 Series 2 by making it available to
users of both the Dimension and OptiPlex series, Dell's line of high-
performance PCs for the corporate market.
"This new agreement with Dell is a key win for Number Nine. It has
extended our presence into Dell's Dimension and OptiPlex lines of PCs
for business users, and will make our industry-leading 2D, 3D and video
performance available to a broader market than ever before," said Larry
McIntosh, Vice President, OEM Sales of Number Nine Visual Technology
Corporation. "With the Imagine 128 Series 2 now being offered in both
the Dimension and OptiPlex lines of computer, we anticipate reaching a
much larger market of high-performance users."
The Imagine 128 Series 2 brings true workstation-class 3D
functionality, cutting-edge 2D and video acceleration to the PC platform
for the very first time. As part of Dell's popular build-to-order sales
model, customers can specify Number Nine's Imagine l28 Series 2 in any
configuration of the Dell Dimension or OptiPlex lines.
"Dell has earned a strong reputation for value and performance among
business customers and Number Nine's Imagine 128 Series 2 offers the
kind of power that users are looking for," said Ben Bentzin, Director of
Worldwide Dimension Product Marketing, Dell Computer Corporation. "We
are pleased to continue the tradition of award-winning performance with
Number Nine."
Over the last nine months, Dell has received dozens of awards from
computer industry publications for systems which incorporate Number Nine
graphics cards, including the prestigious MVP finalist position from
PC/Computing for a Dimension XPS configuration with the Imagine 128.
This was the second consecutive year that Dell's Dimension received this
award for a configuration using the Imagine 128.

Designed With the Future in Mind
The Imagine 128 Series 2 was designed from the ground up to perform
best under 32-bit, multi-tasking operating systems, such as Windows 95,
Windows NT, OS/2 and Unix. The inherent advantages of the Imagine
128 Series 2 are becoming increasingly important as users continue to
upgrade their systems to keep up with the rapid advancement of PC
technology, and find their graphics subsystems becoming the real
performance bottleneck. The Imagine 128 Series 2 has proven a cost-
effective means of avoiding any drop in system performance as users
migrate to more advanced graphics and video-based applications. The
Imagine 128 Series 2, like the original Imagine 128, are the only true
128-bit graphics cards in the world, utilizing 128-bit technology
not only in the graphics engine, but it also offers a 128-bit internal
data bus within the chip itself. Additionally, the Imagine 128 Series
2 contains 4 megabytes of high-speed EDO VRAM that allows it to be the
only graphics accelerator to offer a 128-bit wide data highway between
the graphics processor and on-board graphics memory.
