I was out shopping almost all day, so just got home to see the close. I'm glad you folks went ahead without me -- I meant to tell you not to wait.

Re that article: I think the "Choice/Flexibility/Innovation" yammer is starting to sound a bit thin from overuse. Given a choice, I'd choose something more open and reliable in a desktop O/S, but that choice doesn't seem to be available from Microsoft.

Re CPQ's claim: I've seen that in their print ads, too. Perhaps they are counting CPU's -- didn't we once figure out that microsoft.com had something like a thousand CPU's running it (my recollection is it was over 200 quad-Pentiums)? So if you count it right that's a lot more "market share" than the couple of E-10000's it would take to do the same work.
