First thought,
For Seimens, that news could be devastating. I am pretty well of the opinion that electronic banking will never be secure without personal contact in addition to electronic signatures, fingerprints etc. The idea will be to have enough safeguards that even if someone is stupid enough to try beating the system, they will be caught immediately. It will eventually be a combination of voice, fingerprint, retina, electronic codes, personal pins and personal information that does the trick. In the not so distant future there will be systems that ask for two or three different forms of electronic information before a transaction is approved. They will be able to track the phone or computer the call was made from, who called, what time the called and be 98% certain it is the right person. Anyone looking for 100%, better go to the bank and do it in person. (And that doesn't always work either.) The Buck's two cents worth! |
