Mehrdad,

These tennis matches with you are pathetic - but if you insist.

1. Patents: QCOM isn't selling patents - they're selling products. Perhaps they're patents help provide them a differentior but few patents do it to the degree that they have for QCOM. If COMS uses one of their patents to give them a decided edge in a market I will stand corrected...

2. PE: We are both wrong. The PE is around 100 once accounting for acquisition costs. Do the simple math yourself - it doesn't take calculus.

3. Brand Recognition: It helps in product sales to consumers not to ISP's, IXC's, LEC's, or Large Enterprises. Carriers don't care... and Cisco does not sell to consumers - this is an apples and oranges argument... Move on.

4. Global Reach: Coms wins? They have relationships with governments and institutions.. and other infrastructure providers do not??? C'mon Mehrdad pull you head out of the sand.

5. Diversity: You said COMS wins.. I asked you to tell me why... notwithstanding I'm not sure what you're talking about.. And now you back off - Weak!.

6. Value: We have agreed on this for months now.

7. Wireless: YOu said COMS was the leader. I said they are not - in fact they're not even on the map. ERICY, LU, NOK, and MOT put COMS to shame. Get real.

8. Broadband: COMS is a leading vendor of cable modems. I have said to you at least 12 times that cable modems are the same path that COMS went down with V.90. This is a high volume low margin play that any Consumer Electronics Manufacture can beat COMS at. COMS slowly lost share in V.90 Nics and they didn't learn. Another proof point as to why EB is not a visionary. COMS is in the "other" category in Cable head-ends and doesn't even market a DSLAM. How can they be considered the leading vendor in broadband?

9. Future: The future is bright for PALM - I truely believe that. But COMS is still a big question mark. Time to beat the drum again... sorry Bux:). They are losing market share in every networking category. I see nothing that causes me to believe this is changing - certainly not that latest Cahners In-Stat study on routers.

10. PALM - Cisco envious. I suggested to you why they aren't then you default to a CE discussion. Fact is I'm not a fan of CE.. but I have always felt that if Microsoft wanted something bad enough they would go get it. It's been about 6 months since we started this discussion and from what I can see either Microsoft doesn't care about this space or they have a plan which we don't yet understand. But to think this battle is over in 6 months shows me how little you know about Microsoft. Anyway that's not the topic.

Seems to me this discussion started by me posting a factual independent report. Then you turned it into a battle between CSCO and COMS.. and now MSFT. And when it's all over all the BUX's and Kyros', and COMS lovers will tell me to go away.. even though you are so damn insecure with COMS that you can't even take information from an independent analyst for what it is... information. Instead you make is some sort of battle. Time to grow up.
