Thanks Fred. It's good to hear from you.
There is no question regarding where the automotive industry is going from an electrical power standpoint. And, the good news is that the lead acid battery will not suffice! They have finally reached the end of their line.
There is no question, that I believe are supported by scientific facts and costs, that our NiMH technology is THE BATTERY TECHNOLOGY that is the ONLY enabling technology to address the next generation of electrical needs of the automotive industry, from our current 12V system to the 42V electrical system.
And, the best part of this scenario is that it is in the best SELFISH interests of the automotive industry to hotly pursue the development and marketing of the 42V electrical system because of the great profitability they will enjoy because of all of the new options they can add on to all vehicles that amounts to billions and billions of dollars. This figure is approaching $100 billion dollars per year as they continue counting. So, we have their selfish greed going for us, which is refreshing for a change. All I can say is that it is about time.
Surprisingly though, is that nothing what-so-ever is being published in the rather archaic Automotive News publication. That is really a very sad state of affairs, to say the least.
What we now need, and it is about time, is a nice contract from some major auto mfg'r for our NiMH batteries so that we have the necessary time to set up a production line to address their needs 2-3 years down the road.
Please remember, our nickel magnesium battery technology three year research grant will be up in Oct. 2,000, which will have an even higher energy density than our current NiMH technology. This will make our technology so much the better, in a class all by ourselves. This is a very realistic time frame for the auto industry.
