None of the looting, burning, and property damage is due to the "turtle people"
I will verify that this is true, as seen with my own eyes. In an email, a friend summed up her feelings succinctly:
"Yesterday was incredible downtown. The labor rally/march was so wonderful and impressive, 30,000 people peacefully walking through the city - and then the thugs from Capitol Hill took over with their mindless vandalism, so it's negating all the real messages. Even though I'm not personally into civil disobedience, those guys who are (banner-hanging, sitting down blocking the streets, etc.) certainly have a right to their peaceful approach and their choice to get arrested -- but now they're being painted with the same brush as the thugs who tore up the city. I wish the police had been more willing to arrest all the brats last night, earlier, so the ongoing peaceful demonstrations could continue. Now everything's too hot, and the police are overreacting and shutting everything down, good and bad alike..."
