I was recently thinking, is it worth my time being involved with this web site and getting upset at some of the crap here? I was thinking just yesterday about deleting SI from my bookmarks and forgetting the whole thing. [And I still might do just that.]

Then I read your post highlighted above and decided to maybe hang around a few more days. Looking at this web site as a study in "human" nature is being kind, I think. My impression is it's more of a study in "animal" behavior.
