I knew you would appreciate "Babette's Feast", one of the best films of the last 20 years. For somewhat related films, see also "Eat, Drink, Man, Woman" (set in Taiwan) and "Big Night" (set in New Jersey). Neither is as good, although the former comes close, but they are both worthwhile. Related in a different way is "Best Intentions", which is actually better than "Babette's Feast": script by Ingmar Bergman, direction by Bille August, who also did "Pelle the Conqueror" (which was quite good)........I did not see "Meet Joe Black", but for an example of Brad Pitt acting well, see the sci-fi thriller "12 Monkeys", with Bruce Willis, directed by Terry Gilliam, the animator for Monty Python, who also did "Brazil", "Time Bandits", and "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen". A very good film!....
