Fact is, they are taking over the Ivy League (see student mix of say Harvard; ditto for McKinsey entrants for instance). Is that not going too far for a normal, democratically oriented republican?

Re Seattle, Steve: we used to have our own 68 / Hair / Woodstock times. Remember Nam? Canada? Birmingham AL? Give the others a chance at democracy (Amendment I) too. The only problem we have, we seem to have moved to the other side of the generation fence.

Free flow of capital? Fine with me. But let's be rational. Go for free flow of human capital as well. Give them/ guarrantee them same basic kind of (labour, human) rights. This is what US is trying to get the world agree to. Nice positive surprise for me(maybe I read it wrong, whatever).

The problem is only, its the governments ie executive branches (in those cases where you CAN talk about normal states) and not the legislatures. But it will come. Give NGOs their chance. Soon we should have 4part state power: legislative/judicial/executive and consultative

As long as Y2K does not screw up on us. Thank God the Jewish Y6K is still 436 years away, so Charlene Barshevsky can do her job.
