What you actually said was:

"the innocent always suffer, I don't worry about that anymore."

There is no need to worry to the point of disability. But the way your statement was phrased implies that you don't worry at all -- that, for example, if the innocent suffer, tough sh!t.

I find that pretty heartless.

If you are saying something different from that, good. But it's not clear to me what else you mean.

If you knew that a company was using 6 and 7 year old "workers" in their plants and exposing them to toxic chemicals, would you call that the innocent suffering? And if you do, would you decide not to buy that product? Or would you buy the product because it was a few dollars cheaper than the one made without child labor because you don't want to worry about the innocent suffering?
