CB, if the guy was from Wyo, he was probably just trying to be "cute". Depending on the year, he may have thought dealing with a woman in the oil business bizarre enough -- then you played the indian card.....
Not defending the guy, but having spent years 12 - 22 in the Equality State, I can tell you no one will ever mistake it for the Sensitivity State. One should consider that much, if not most, of the population is centered around a series of truck stops along I-80.
When the Wyoming football team played in the 1978 Sugar Bowl, its supporters were actually barred from numerous establishments on Bourbon street! I, personally, was once stepped on by a horse in a Cheyenne hotel lobby.
In spite of all this, Wyo allowed women to vote, hold office and serve on juries twenty years before becoming a state. Along with, I think Texas, it elected the first female governor.
