I assumed you felt that way, and others here, but what I found interesting about Neocon's remark is that he seemed to justify his opinions with some specific instances (regarding third-world peoples, etc.) and extrapolate that to the situation as a whole. The issues with the Gap, for example are domestic... there may be third world labor issues too but they do enough bad stuff right here. You can't dismiss it by saying, "well, in the long run we are helping these poor people in Bangladesh so short term its difficult but its a long term win".
