Nope. Trees are a renewable resource.

But old growth isn't renewable in our lifetimes. And probably not until the human race is extinct. That's an awful long time horizon -- even longer than my investing horizon! <g>

I figure I owe it to my children and grandchildren to leave them some parts of this globe untrashed. It's sort of like what we learned in kindergarten: share, don't destroy toys (yeah, as far a kid is concerned they're also a renewable resource, but that doesn't make it okay to trash them), clean up after yourself.

Not bad lessons for life.
