It doesn't really matter what we previously paid for a stock. Let's evaluate the here and now. (I side with JPQ). However with the spread on MEXP and other small caps it's difficult to say the least to get good fills. Small caps are illiquid and usually the last to bounce. Large caps can be margined and usually receive much higher multiples on a relative CFPS basis (Round 2 goes to Slider).

Now we've all looked at these things from so many different angles my head is starting to spin. The only thing we're suffering from is falling stock prices. We have the fundamentals to support 50%-100% moves here. Does it really matter if one buys RRC, TMR or NBL here...not really if they buy and hold. All will do quite nicely. Just different shades of gray.

All we need is a catalyst to get big cap leaders up 15-25% and get noticed again...

Will it be

1) $30 oil?
2) The return of cold weather and $3 gas prices
3) Rotation into cyclicals and energy
4) Y2K Fears
5) Wash sale related (previous selloff in XOI/XNG on NOV 8th)
6) Sub 300 inventory levels
7) A return to sanity
8) W. Buffet going 100% energy, joining SI and duking it out with Slider in a Trade-O-Rama winner takes all.

Place your bets. Almost anyone of them would do. I'm guessing at least 7 out of 8 will happen. After a return to sanity is pretty unlikely...
