Robert,

"pleased to hear (a rumor at this point) that mgmt. has let loose of a few shares"

It's not rumor, if you know anyone that has access to a bloomberg machine (not the bloomberg site) they could confirm. I'm doing this off of memory (shaky at best) but between kiser(spelling?), sherman & clark I think it was 300,000+ shares. Some were filed on 11/23 & some on 12/1 again from memory, due your own dd.

I was worried for a minute when I saw those filings, but your explanation makes PERFECT sense given the action on the stock. Because VARL should have sold off significantly after the spike with 200,000 shares left to be sold by insiders, but it didn't (due to some inst. with an appetite). In case your wondering one of the insiders sold around 60,000 at 21 1/8 (NTBC's offer was at 21 1/4 & they took a 1/8 profit for handling the transaction). Right after NTBC was finished VARL moved up. Oh by the way, NTBC is based in Colorado guess who they are handling the block sells for????
