NEON: NEON announces Windows-based BizTalk integration solution

DEC 3, 1999, M2 Communications - New Era of Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:
NEON) today announced the availability of NEON e-Biz 2000, an
e-commerce Integration Server fully compliant with the Windows DNA
platform. NEON's e-Biz 2000 enables organizations to deploy an
integration solution based on familiar Microsoft standards, providing
customers with integration tools to easily implement XML-based,
e-commerce products.

"With NEON e-Biz 2000, we have the ability to easily interface our
existing information systems to any new applications and instruments
quickly and cost- effectively," said Peter Karkantis, marketing manager
for Abbott Laboratories, a $12.5 billion global healthcare company that
was ranked number 133 in revenues in Fortune magazine's 1999 ranking of
the largest United States-based corporations. Illinois-based Abbott
Labs, a two-year NEON customer using NEON's full-line of integration
products, has standardized NEON e-Biz 2000 as the integration solution
for managing data for its Point of Care division.

"NEON's unique and scalable capabilities in adapter and legacy-to-XML
technology strongly compliment Microsoft's product focus on providing
cost-effective, e-commerce application development solutions," said
Charles Stevens, vice president of Microsoft's business solutions

In a related announcement today, Microsoft and NEON Form Strategic
Relationship To Enhance E-Commerce Integration, NEON and Microsoft
announced that they had formed an alliance to jointly market and
enhance e-commerce integration solutions. Microsoft also announced that
NEON will serve on the BizTalk Framework Steering Committee. During the
past 30 days, NEON has announced significant partnerships with
BroadVision, BEA, Commerce One and now - Microsoft. "Regardless of
