You may already know this much but I believe the rumours started when Chris Edgecomb was asked if he would consider selling Star and he replied that all ideas would be considered. Then they signed up Duetche Bank to "help" them define different financing options. In their analyst conference call when they discussed 3Q99 earnings they announced that they were receiving a $90M equipment and cash deal from Nortel. They were asked directly if they were going to be bought or if they were going to sell off the German properties. Chris replied that Germany accounted for 11% of their earnings and they felt it had great potential. He also stated he wouldn't comment on anything to do with buyout, etc. November and December call options were very heavily purchased. Rumours on message boards (www.clearstation.com) suggested GLBX as a possible buyer. I don't know what's up with the stock although I'd like to know since I am long STRX.
