Your thoughts are good ones patroller. I don't quarrel with them. We all need to be tolerant of opposing views. To a lesser extent we need to be tolerant of others frailties.

Certainly this market has been good enough that opposing positions can be profitable. That is good.

But in a bull market, especially in this bull market, we look at our portfolios and its easy to start believing we are very, very smart. Thats fine if you keep that to yourself. Its not fine if you project that sense to others, especially when you have reason to believe they are relying on what you say. I have a problem when someone accepts untoward credit because of a distorted sense of themselves and I really have an intolerance for what I perceive as misrepresentation.

In that circumstance, for better or worse, admittedly, I usually have not been one to turn the other cheek. If you knew me, you would understand that the less inspired motives you mentioned are not at issue.
