How about half a million children? There are approximately 4500 innocent children under the age of 5 dying every month as a direct result of American military action that for a decade has been unproductive and appears now to be self perpetuating. This is not a side effect of the military action, it is the stated and expected outcome. The southern part of Iraq is largely village populations and enemies of Saddam Hussein. They are mostly Shiite Muslims and Saddam would be happy to be rid of them. The north is populated by Curd villagers, again enemies of Hussein. Due to the sanctions The US continues on Iraq, the above mentioned children are simply denied resources to allow them to live. There are approximately 2 million starving and another 1.5 million orphans fending for themselves at any given time. Yes the Mothers and elderly are dieing in droves right along with them but the statistics that are published everywhere eccept in the US seem to focus on the young children.
When asked about it the administration doesn't deny it they simply reply "we think its worth it." What worth is being derived? Non-educated Americans usually reply that if Saddam would just cooperate it would all stop, so its ALL his fault. That is like saying its the ranchers fault that the government puts a bounty on coyotes. Yeah, so? Who's action is killing them and why? Its ok with me if we put a bounty on coyotes by the way. The point is killing the children of thousands of people who hate Saddam Hussein every month elicits the same response from him. Yeah, so?
If the US wanted to surround Bagdad and apply sanctions just to Saddams Regime they could do it much more easily than the whole country. They could squeez Saddam like a pimple until he pops. So, why not?
How about this. When Bush won the war against Saddam the purpose and goals of the sanctions were clearly stated. Among the agreements were that Saddam would be allowed to sell a certain amount of oil to run his affairs and from that the united states would get a cut to pay our expenses for the conflict and for maintaining the sanction so as to ensure no weapons of mass distruction are being produced. Well the conflict is still being waged and I can find no one that can provide explanation that involves clear and obtainable military objectives. so, lots of dopes have been poor at handling military affairs. Why do I say this is such an awful attrocity?

The bottom line is, we are targeting innocent babies as a military strategy that has been failing for years. It is a sin. If a van of law breaking foriegn illegals snuck across the border from Mexico, they would be considered in violation of US law. Yet, if the government had a policy that said lock them in the van and let them starve and die of treatable ailments, in the hot desert sun of Arizona all of us would protest. Even though they are foriegners and they couldn't be considered innocent, we would not stand for this kind of injustice. Multiply that by hundreds of thousands and change the victims to completely innocent and make the mass exterminators the Administration of the USA who thinks it is worth it. It has become an economic resource to the US military, Attrocious!
