Thanks for that report.

I'm heartened to hear that at least a few of the 30,000 protesters had the gumption to stand up to these thugs.

Now why is that a couple of hundred vandals can somehow get away with these types of crimes when there are 30,000 protesters standing around who could have utilized their powers of "citizen's arrest"??

It certainly is wrong that looting was permitted to occur in plain view of police. I'm sure they were under order to maintain their positions at the demonstrations, but that is a judgement fault of their superiors and their own decision making process.

Had I been a cop there, I would have said screw the demonstrators and gone and put the habeus grabbus on the looters. That's where my political "bacon" would come from, protecting the property of a constituent.
