Or should you buy a computer from Compaq, when some of the assembly is done in poorer countries in the Far East, or shop at Toys R Us, when some of the toys are manufactured at slave wage rates in China, or dine in a Thai restaurant, when you suspect that the much of the staff at night is composed of illegal aliens who are paid no salary? Sometimes the decision can become extremely difficult, even for the most socially responsible.
