There are extensive replanting programs by the "evil" corporations, nature conservancy groups and the government. I see them all around me here in NH, Maine, Vermont, etc. I suspect it is no different in other parts of the country.

Hello, I just said the same thing, so we are not in disagreement. However, I have seen the lack of replanting on lands of small property owners because of the way the funding is handled; they are too long and too thoroughly out of pocket in many cases to undertake it. Ever been up to Shelburne? I can show you the better part of a small mountain that was clearcut. The hiking trails are unrecognizable.

My position is that there must be more creative solutions that putting property rights at loggerheads (wincing at the pun) with preservation efforts.
